There is a huge amount of know-how and expertise required to ensure that OCTG is properly, safely and securely handled in transit and in the field. It is only too easy to ignore good safe practices which is why it is vital that all parties who handle pipe transport, shipping and storage are suitably qualified and experienced.
Here are a few examples of how not to do it:
Unstable stack; impossible to work safely.
Unstable stack extremely likely to lead to accidents/injury. After a visit from PPC technical staff the contractor radically overhauled stacking procedures.
Tubing bundles dumped on the ground in tropical jungle conditions.
Casing dumped with no dunnage.
Unstable pipe stack: Danger of collapse when loading out.
